From a scientific point of view, it seems like Wii Fit would do very little to help one actually get in better shape. Never missing an opportunity to lampoon a worthy target, the guys over at SarcasticGamer have whipped up a hilarious parody trailer, making fun of this fact. It is good to see this media darling getting knocked down a peg or two. I can honestly say that this is one of the most best parodies I have seen in a long time. Check out the video below:

Do you have any background in fitness? The writers at sarcastic gamer clearly do not, and it seems like you are simply cheering their uninformed comments because of certain bias(es).
As someone who has played sports their entire life, trained for a collegiate sport, and trained for high level amateur and low level professional tennis tournaments, I can tell you that from a scientific point of view, Wii Fit WOULD help one actually get in better shape. While other activities may be more efficient, they lack certain motivating characteristics (Wii Fit is relatively cheap, can be done at home, doesn't involve working out in front of anyone you don't know, etc).
Personally, I've integrated the Yoga and some of the Strength exercises into my current lifting regimen, and the results on my balance and core strength (quite important on the tennis court, for anyone who plays seriously) have been quite noticeable.
Don't dismiss it simply because the mass appeal offends you.
I don't think he was dismissing it at all. Just saying that it was good to see not everyone thinks it is a miracle "drug". The Wii in general has been seen to have health benefits, I mean it is used in Nursing home as part of physical therapy. You sound more like a fanboy trying to not sound like one.
